7 Years And Counting. These five Sydney Sound Cables have been on the job for over seven years ( purple so they don’t get left behind). Travelling in and out of venues all over Australia. Venues like The Annandale Hotel, The Gaelic, The Sandringham, Tone Sydney where they get a real work out on rock, metal, indie and hip hop gigs, with fast changeovers between bands—lots of feet and equipment being dragged across stage, bear, spirits, glass and sweat, pulling, swinging and TWISTING! As well as corporate, cultural, festival, tours and recording gigs where these cables show their clean sounding reliability. Every gig they are tied with a knot and squashed in a hard case! If they were wiped down they would look almost new and still operate as new. Opened for inspection they are ready for another 10 years. These have outlasted so many “in-house” cables at venues they return to. Here’s a little comic strip of a typical day on the job for them..... |

CHEAP CABLES...!!!
What happens when you buy cheap cables... THEY BREAK...they ruin your performance... They ruin your gig... They cost you money to replace and stop you working. When you buy quality cables you only have to buy once. AVOID FALSE ECONOMY AND EMBARRASMENT. These photos below are of a Multi-core that was purchased from a large outlet in Australia, via Ebay... At the time the product was falsely advertised as having Neutrik connectors. This is a poor quality product and has consistently broken down from its first days use!!! BE WARNED!!! AND THINK HARD BEFORE YOU BUY. |
If your having trouble seeing or would like a summary of the situation... Out of the random selection of connectors opened... All failed any type of quality control. Problems range from wire being “clamped” in place with chunks of solder with no solder melted to the copper... Poorly “tinned copper wires that are weak and just break off. Insulation stripped back too far so bare copper wires touch ... Cable that stretches very, very easily, THREE WAY SHORTS where all wires twist together... ( two or three wire crosses were the most common problem!). Connectors that don't support the cable. Not only does this effect the cable working at all... Potential for damage to your pre—amp / mixing desk and speakers when highly amplified ( 60db gain) mic pre– plus amplified speakers BANG... Especially with phantom power on... Is a serious and real occurrence!! |
A QUALITY CABLE HAS GOOD PARTS AND GOOD WORKMANSHIP. DONT PAY FOR A CHEAP CABLE TWICE, BUY RIGHT FIRST TIME. |
